ANGELLICA  S. SWEAT

20251114_185822000_iOS (3)_edited.png

For over a decade, I have engaged ministry and leadership across congregational, academic, nonprofit, and corporate contexts, developing an interdisciplinary approach to theological education, spiritual care, and organizational leadership.

My professional background in finance, administration, and theological education informs my capacity to design and facilitate spaces that attend to human flourishing at the intersections of theology, culture, and care. I currently serve as an ordained deacon in the A.M.E. Zion Church, Program Coordinator for the Institute for Youth Ministry at Princeton Theological Seminary, and Program Coordinator for the A.M.E. Zion Church Compelling Preaching Initiative. These roles situate my work at the nexus of scholarship and practice, with a particular focus on leadership formation, congregational vitality, and the ongoing development of preaching as a transformative ecclesial practice.

My research employs a womanist, trauma-informed methodological framework that centers the lived experiences of marginalized communities as critical sites of theological reflection and knowledge production. Through sustained engagement with narrative, embodiment, and sacred witness, my work contributes to broader conversations in practical theology, homiletics, and pastoral care. I am particularly interested in how preaching and spiritual leadership can function as practices of healing, resistance, and communal reimagining.
